Introduction to the Gardens

The extensive walled garden of the Logis includes the following features:

A beautiful walled heated swimming pool with secure entrance (11m x 5m plus 3m x 3m extended steps creating an ideal separate area for babies and toddlers). The swimming pool is heated from early May to mid September (depending on the weather)

A children’s play area (including swings and sandpit)

  • croquet lawn
  • badminton
  • large trampoline

Undercover activities include:

  • skittles
  • table tennis
  • table football

There is a play area for toddlers and younger children, with play house, market stall, and school area.

Beyond the garden there is also our own large field with wild flowers ideal for football, kiteflying, blackberry picking and cycling on our home grown cycle track or butterfly maze.

There are many butterflies and birds in our garden and the field. Hoopoes are often seen in the field or garden, and we have also seen a green woodpecker, and on quiet evenings the house-martins love to swoop down to drink from our swimming pool. As dusk falls our resident bats flit around the courtyard and the magnolia trees, and as the stars come out you will be amazed at just how many you can see from here. On warm summer evenings watch out for shooting stars, or look for glow-worms under the hedges and trees.
